It's been said a poor craftsman blames his tools. This may be true, but a monkey hammering on a really expensive typewriter doesn't produce Shakespeare, either.
 

We use industry-leading products because they are dependable and predictable. It's important to utilize every advantage you can muster when you are coping with tough acoustical environments or high-pressure time frames. As far as reliability is concerned – we didn't get where we are by making excuses for crappy gear.
